FUN...FUN...NOT FUN...BIG FRUSTRATION...THEN BIG BIG FUN...
Sac cw contest it's the big event for a Scandinavian if you like pile-up.
For me this is like a early x-mas. This year i finally had a yagi to use.
Yes my tower is up and the antennas are also where they should be.
For first time I have competive antennas. But the contest started slow for me,
started on 20 mtr,the first 2 hour was only giving me 160 q's, in 2013 I had
200 after 2 hour. Last year I was using a g5rv. I started to think ,low
propagation, low Activity....after Reading comments on this reflector I
understand 15 mtr was hotter than 20 mtr.....so I think I should have qsyed to
15 mtr earlier. Then i was qsy to 40 mtr and i have a terribel qrn on the
band.
What happen !! The noise Level was very annoying ,so I have big problem to rx.
So I think sac cw 2014 was over for me. Noise on 80 mtr was even worser
s9+40db.
I was thinking, have someone in the neighbourhood buy a 100 inch plasma tv...
I started to check innside the house and luckly i found the qrn machine.
It was a computer screen that was making the noise, this one was quickly
switched off, and I have to say R.I.P. you will never enter my house again...
This happen in prime time eu, so I think I lost 100-150 q's on 40-80 mtr
I was only qrv 18 hour. Was sleeping to long also. But next year...
But after solve this problem the fun was comeing back...
I dont know what ct9/sm5alj was doing but he tx-ing cl9/sm5alj to me...
Conclusion after the weekend was good, all my new antennas performed well
and that's a good feeling, have only to adjust the 160 mtr slooper before the
cqww cw test, hopefuly I can do that soon and not the night before the test...
A big thank you to all who was calling me....year after year...
Cu all next year  . Lars
