160 Mtr

I was buying this antenna from W8AMZ and was putting
it on my tower 25 December, the antenna was easy to tune
in , only folding the wire back again till you have good swr.
The swr is good, i have about 90khz within 2:1
The antenna is mounted about 15 mtr up (48 feet's)
Was using this antenna in the Stew Perry test this weekend.
Was making 163 q's only one qso outside eu.
But i'm satified because the primary use for this
antenna is to get some mulitipliers in contest.
The builder of this antenna W8AMZ past away
before Christmas , so R.I.P. Tom
So thank you Tom for a small antenna that works.

Not so much time for testing but worked  JM1XCW and
JF1OPL on 40 mtr rtty not bad since i was running 50watt.

VU7-Lakshadweep Islands

This is the qsl from a dxpedition back in 2007.
From 20 of November til 10. December a team
of Indian hams make this dxcc entity once again on the air.
They created some big pileups and i was lucky to work them
on 10 and 12 mtr for new band countrys, also one qso on rtty.
Also make some other qso's,but since I have vu7 confirmed from
15 to 160 mtr  ,I was more than happy. They did there best and
ended up with 55k qso's. So VU7AG thanks for a great show.

MFJ-1792

Photo from Mfj's homepage.
MFJ-1792 , This antenna i have had for many years.
It have been a great performer for me. Giveing me a lot of dx
on 40 and 80 mtr. Have used it againts ground radials, ground mounted.
Have been giving me 250dxcc on 80 mtr, not bad for a 33 feet's vertical.
My ground radials system was 90 radials of 10 mtr and 100 square mtr's
with chicken fence. This antenna needs guying at least one set.
This summer i was removing all my ground radials and chicken fence..
My antenna is now mounted on a 2 mtr high pole and i use 2 elevated
radials for 40 and 2 for 80 mtr. And it still give me a lot of dx in log.
So if you have the Space and looking for a 'cheap' antenna that
produce regular dx contacts, please concern this...
I highly recomend this antenna. it have give me a lot of fun.
For advice about ground radials.... check the home page of steppir.
They have a ok articel about radials...
Look for *radial system for vertical antennas*

Coax clamp

For many years I have used cable ties ala plastic type.
With bad/poor results, after some years the sun and cold
temperature during winter, have breaked down the cabel ties.
And the coax starts to live it's one life and often break down
from the feading point. So this is my solution.
Since i work in the car industry a coating of tectyl is obligatory.
Have been working on my tower project this sunday.
So the tower goes up before christmas.A big xmas present to me..
In the background you can se my takeoff to the west.
No hills for 50 km.............
