Bouvet Island #3



This is the only qsl I have from Bouvet Isl.
Worked on 20 mtr ssb.
The op was N4BQW Chuck.
So this is the end of my trilogy about Bouvet Isl.

This is how the cabin look like on Bouvet Isl.
I think it have been a hard work to get it up.
No harbour, they use helicopter from the ship
to get everything into the base.

This is Bouvet Island.
This one is highly wanted in the radio amateur world.
The good news... I have the callsign to tx from this island  3Y5LJA..
But i will never get the permisson to go there ore the money to go.
I think this will be a hard one to get for the rookies.
Of course I have Bouvet Isl. confirmed.
On the right side of the photo you can see a new cabin
raised for Norsk Polarinstitutt, it can house 5-6 man
for 3 months.when they are going for reasearch work.
I think theirs work load will be hard and if one of them
are a ham-radio operator, it will be a limited operation.
But we can all dream..........

FT5ZM #2

So is FT5ZM history , for me and many with me this was a great history.
Was Lucky to get them on 7 band , for my dxcc score it was 3 new band
and one new mode cw, was not capabel to work them on rtty, but next time
I will for sure hehe. It was one thing with this dx-pedition that make me little
frustrated, every evening I come back from work they was only intrested to work
North America and since I'm not a pensioner ore living on social welfare, this
realy lock out to be a hard one to get in the log. Of course I understand that they
have worked Europe the whole days on many bands. But one late evening I was
Lucky and made 3 bands in 15 minuts, woooww what a fealing...
All my qsos was done with 100 watts and singel element antennas.
With 100 watts you can rock the world and remember God is kind with nice guys.
So thank you the team of FT5ZM you was realy doing the work and delivered
the goods. Remember this boys. they need your support with your qsl request.
